PROVIDENCE, UTAH — The Center for The Empowerment Dynamic announced that an investor group led by Daniel Rellaford acquired the Center’s assets from Donna Zajonc in September 2025. The group includes Rellaford, Zajonc, Jim Anderson, and Barry Rellaford. Rellaford serves as the Center’s CEO.

The acquisition follows the passing of David Emerald, creator of The Empowerment Dynamic and author of The Power of TED*, in April 2025. It marks a new chapter for the Center, with a focus on carrying his work forward for the people, practitioners, and organizations who use it.

Rellaford’s connection to the work began when his father, leadership and trust educator Barry Rellaford, introduced him to Emerald and Zajonc. Reading The Power of TED* gave him language for patterns he had encountered throughout his career in human resources and healthcare consulting: how stress shapes behavior, how relationships break down, and how people can respond differently.

“Whatever it looked like, I wanted to be part of the future of this work.”

He subsequently joined the Center as Chief Operating Officer, working with Emerald and Zajonc to grow the organization and plan for its next generation.

Following Emerald’s death, the team entered a period of reflection that Zajonc described as “the fertile void.” Support from the Center’s staff, practitioners, and wider community reinforced the importance of continuing the work while allowing its next chapter to take shape.

The investor group brings together people with longstanding personal and professional connections to Emerald and the Center. Anderson was Emerald’s close friend of 40 years. Barry Rellaford brings a career spent working with leaders and teams on personal effectiveness and trust. Zajonc, who sold the Center’s assets, is also part of the new ownership group.

Under Rellaford’s leadership, the Center will continue its work helping people recognize drama-driven patterns and practice more conscious, creator-oriented responses in their relationships, leadership, and everyday lives.
